Innovation in Scottish Tourism.
The Tourism Innovation group has wound down its activity. A new Tourism Leadership Group led by Stephen Leckie from Crieff Hydro is currently being developed and the group hascommitmed to refreshing the industry strategy over the next six months and setting out the growth opportunities for tourism going forward. All parties are keen to incorporate Innovation into the new landscape and aim to learn from, and build on the significant achievements of the Tourism Innovation Group in driving long term sustainable growth in Scottish tourism.
The industry group TiG has been a key part of Innovation support to the tourism sector and our funders are keen that the industry and the many associated private, public and third sector partners retain an operator led focus on innovation going forward.
A close associate of TiG is the recently launched £1.5m Tourism Intelligence Scotland project. The most popular parts of the TiG web site will be incorporated in the TIS site and we hope that you will register with TIS at http://www.tourism-intelligence.co.uk/Registration.aspx. As a result, you will automatically receive: Ear to the Ground newsletter which will include features on innovation, timely intelligence updates and copies of the new guides as they are produced. Registration gives you free access to all parts of the TIS site and the enormous databank of intelligence that is available. Other countries are green with envy at this resource - so use it!
